Atavis Sustainability
Responsibility belongs in the plan.
Every flight arranged through Atavis is supported by 4AIR’s Level 3 Beyond Neutral commitment, an aviation-specific program that accounts for a broader emissions footprint and incorporates sustainable aviation fuel.
Beyond the Offset
Carbon neutral is the baseline.
Private aviation carries an environmental responsibility that should be addressed clearly, not hidden in fine print. Through 4AIR, Atavis goes beyond carbon neutral by accounting for aviation’s broader climate impact, supporting verified emissions reductions, and incorporating sustainable aviation fuel where available.
How It Works
How the commitment takes shape.
Atavis treats sustainability as part of the flight process, not a separate gesture. Every flight is measured, documented, and reviewed through the 4AIR Level 3 Beyond Neutral framework.
Measure Impact
The impact of every flight is calculated using factors such as aircraft type, distance, fuel use, and routing.
Go Beyond Neutral
Every flight is addressed through 4AIR’s Level 3 Beyond Neutral commitment, which accounts for more than carbon alone.
Document Clearly
Reporting helps make the commitment clear, giving clients visibility into the environmental action taken around their travel.
Consider SAF
Sustainable aviation fuel options may be considered where available, including book-and-claim approaches when appropriate.
Program Integrity
Accountability is built in.
Through 4AIR’s Level 3 Beyond Neutral commitment, Atavis applies an aviation-specific program for comprehensive emissions offsetting, verified climate projects, transparent reporting, and sustainable aviation fuel options where available.
Verified Projects
Climate action should be tied to projects with recognized verification, clear methodology, and measurable environmental benefit.
Beyond Neutral
Atavis is committed to going beyond neutral, addressing more than carbon alone through an aviation-specific program designed for aviation’s broader climate impact.
Clear Reporting
Documentation helps make the commitment visible, so guests can understand the action taken around their flight without sorting through opaque claims.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel
Where available, Atavis encourages the use of sustainable aviation fuel directly or through book-and-claim programs that help bring SAF into the aviation fuel system.
In Partnership with 4AIR
Sustainability made for aviation.
Atavis works with 4AIR to apply an aviation-specific sustainability program that supports beyond-neutral offsetting, verified climate projects, reporting, and sustainable aviation fuel options where available.
4AIR provides an aviation-specific sustainability program that helps Atavis measure flight impact, offset comprehensive emissions, document that commitment, and support sustainable aviation fuel through Level 3 Beyond Neutral.
Plainly Explained
A few terms worth knowing.
Sustainability in aviation can become technical quickly. These definitions explain the language behind the Atavis commitment.
Beyond Neutral
Atavis is committed to 4AIR Level 3 Beyond Neutral, which goes beyond carbon offsetting by accounting for aviation’s broader climate impact and incorporating sustainable aviation fuel.
Carbon Offset
A carbon offset represents a verified reduction or avoidance of emissions elsewhere. Offsets are retired so the same reduction cannot be claimed twice.
CO₂e
Carbon dioxide equivalent is a way to compare the climate impact of different greenhouse gases and aviation-related effects in a common measurement.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel
Sustainable aviation fuel, or SAF, is jet fuel made from non-fossil sources. It can be blended with conventional jet fuel and used as a drop-in fuel without aircraft or infrastructure changes.
Book-and-Claim
Book-and-claim allows sustainable aviation fuel to be purchased when it is not physically available at a departure airport. The fuel enters the supply system elsewhere, while the verified emissions reduction is documented and claimed by the purchaser.
Verified Projects
Verified climate projects follow recognized standards and registries, helping ensure that emissions reductions are measurable, documented, and not double-counted.
